With Special Thanks... Arrabon Incorporated would like to thank the following contributors for their donations. Your generosity is greatly appreciated:

History Arrabon House, a Parkdale community based service for young women, was established in 1973 by community members concerned about adolescent girls in need of safe shelter, positive life skills and emotional support. The Sisters of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (the Loretto Sisters) have provided significant support to Arrabon, both financially and through active service. Sister Maria Lanthier initiated the community support that led to the acquisition of 29 Wilson Park Road. She also become the first Director and established the agency as a part of the residential service network, funded by the provincial government. In 1994, Lanthier Place opened its doors on Vaughan Road to provide second stage housing for Arrabon graduates and young women from other community agencies who are ready to live independently with the support of a live-in mentor. 2009 was an exciting year for Arrabon. In partnership with Pelletier, Arrabon began the process of expanding its aftercare / outreach program. We look forward to being able to support many more youth as they transition out of residential care into a productive and meaningful adult life. Arrabon Incorporated recognizes all its past and current contributors for their generous donations. |

Philosophy The name “Arrabon”, a Greek word from St. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, signifies a promise of new things to come, of hope. The name is synonymous with the mission of the agency. It is dedicated to supporting young women, who struggle with their emotional and mental health. Arrabon encourages the young women to accept their past and challenge themselves to reach their goals. Arrabon respects and encourages the uniqueness of each young woman. This is reflected and respected in all aspects of the work with our youth. Arrabon provides inclusive services to all female youth admitted to our program. Arrabon fosters healing, growth, well-being and independence. |
